1951 Traction Avant 11B Normale...(modified)  Vin: 198558  Mileage: 11,736.  Citroen Traction Avants (CTA) were very much ahead of their time when first introduced at the Paris Salon in 1934.  They were very technically advanced with long, low, and sleek styling compared to the boxy upright models of the 30's.  The restoration and build of this car has been done very tastefully with quality parts and well thought out engineering design.  The car is a joy to own and drive.  You are looking at the small boot (trunk) which is the most desirable and collectible.  A long list of wonderful modifications has been done in making this a very attractive, comfortable, unusual, and safe driving car even in today's traffic.  Great handling and road holding, good looks and historical importance.  It draws a lot of interest where ever it is shown and the popular question is always, "what is this?"

  • DRIVE LINE:  Toyota Supra 2.7 litre (#3358889 5MGE) DOHC.  Toyota automatic transmission with overdrive and rear axle.

  • BRAKES:  4 wheel disk.

  • GAS TANK:  Stainless.

  • AC/HEAT:  Vintage Air.

  • SOUND SYSTEM:  Kenwood.

  • STEERING WHEEL:  Custom Grant banjo.

  • INSTRUMENTS:  Classic style and all function.

  • REAR SEATS:  Toyota fold down and platform.

  • PAINT:  Base coat clear coat urethane (Jeep Cherokee Charcoal Gold).

  • FRONT SUSPENSION:  Mustang II IFS.

  • REAR SUSPENSION:  Toyota independent.

  • TOP:  Folding convertible with a roll-over-bar.

  • WHEELS:  modeled after earlier Citroens of the 30's.

  • TIRES:  Radials, P205/75R15.

  • HOOD ORNAMENT:  An upgrade Citroen "The Lady."

  • SEAT BELTS:  Front & back.

  • ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP:  an auxiliary electric installed.

  • ELECTRIC RADIATOR FAN: Installed on motor side of radiator.

  • CARBS:  Twin SU type Hitachi carbs from a Datsun 240Z.

  • WIRING HARNESS:  New Haywire manufacture.

The condition of this car is excellent.  No dents or scratches on the body; all chrome is bright; upholstery & carpets are like new.  The DOHC engine is rebuilt & runs smoothly as most Toyotas do with a bit of a sports car sound.  Included is a Haynes Toyota Supra repair and maintenance manual #92025 (1139).  No disappointments here.

1955 Citroen Traction Avant for sale. Black with grey interior. Car runs nicely. I use it as much as I can in good weather. New engine in 2004. Transmission rebuilt in 2010. Brakes and wheel bearings are all new. The car was used in the movie "Curious Case of Benjamin Button". Paramount replaced the interior at the time, in 2005 and painted some sections.
