50th DS Anniversary in Paris

The Citroen DS has just celebrated its 50th anniversary and to mark the occasion 1,600 Citroenists staged a rally on Sunday October 9th in central Paris to pay tribute to one of the world's most beloved and honored vehicles..

The convoy drove from the Arc de Triomphe to the Eiffel Tower, passing the newly renovated Grand Palais where in an auto show in October 1955 Citroen's revolutionary saloon awed the crowds.

Paul managed to pull off a last-minute trip to France, met up with a Belgian Citroen friend and spent the weekend soaking up and enjoying the once-in-a-lifetime Birthday party.

Paul snapped off almost 600 pics on his digital camera - here are only a handful.

50 Candles for the D model.

A huge collection of D models to inspect and admire.

A few 'pintjes' (pints) with new-found Belgian friends.
